TNPSC Combined Civil Service (CCS)-1 Group-1 -Selection procedure

The selection will be made in following three successive stages.

(i) Preliminary Examination for selection of applicants for admission to the Main Written Examination

(ii) Main Written Examination and

(iii) An Oral Test in the form of an Interview.

The Preliminary Examination is meant to serve as a screening test only. The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination by the applicants who are declared qualified for admission to the Main Written Examination will not be counted for determining their final order of merit.

The number of applicants to be admitted to the Main Written Examination will be 50 times the number of applicants to be recruited having regard to the rule of reservation of appointments. However, in each reservation group, all the applicants who secure the same marks as that of cut off marks of their reservation groups shall also be admitted to the Main Written Examination, though the number of applicants to be admitted to the Main Written Examination may exceed 1:50 ratio. No supplemental list will be published in the place of rejected applicants (or) applicants who have failed to upload documents for verification.

Those who possess the TNPSC Group 1 qualifications,  can submit the form in online mode. In the TNPSC Group 1 Online Form will open to the candidates who did the TNPSC One Time Registration (OTP). Without registration, the application form is not accessible to the candidates.   Hence complete the first step in the TNPSC CCS I  Application  Form filling process that is TNPSC OTR. For the previously registered candidates with the TNPSC board by entering the registration id can log in to the TN Group 1 Online Application form.

Registration Fee

It is mandatory for the applicants to register their basic particulars through One - Time online Registration system on payment of Rs.150/- (Rupees One Hundred and Fifty only) towards registration fee and then should apply online for this recruitment. [The One-Time Registration will be valid for 5 years from the date of registration. Thereafter, the registration should be renewed by paying the prescribed fee.]

Examination Fee

The Preliminary Examination fee is Rs. 100 and should be paid at the time of submitting the online application for this recruitment if they are not eligible for the fee concession.

The Main Written Examination fee is Rs. 200 and should be paid later only by those applicants who are admitted to the Main Written Examination based on the result of Preliminary Examination and on receipt of intimation from Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission, if they are not eligible for fee concession.
