Age Details

Name of the Posts Minimum Age ( For all ) Maximum Age
For Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Caste ( Arunthathiyars ), Scheduled Tribes, Most Backward Classes / Denotified Communities, Backward Classes ( Other than Muslim ), Backward Classes ( Muslims ) and Destitute Widows of all castes For “Others” [ i.e Applicants not belonging to SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs / DCs, BCs and BCMs ]
For all posts 18 Years No Maximum age limit 30 Years

Note:-
Age Concessions:-

(i) No Maximum age limit for SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BCs and BCMs and DWs of all castes.
(ii) For Differently Abled Persons:
(a) No maximum age limit for the applicants who belong to SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BCs and BCMs.
(b) Differently Abled Persons of the ‘Other Communities’ are eligible for age concession upto 10 years over and above the maximum age limit prescribed above.
(iii) For Ex-servicemen:
(a) No maximum age limit for the applicants who belong to SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BCs and BCMs.
(b) The maximum age limit is 48 years for “others” (i.e) Applicants not belonging to any of the categories mentioned in (a) above.
(c) The above mentioned age concession will not apply to the applicants those who have already been recruited to any class or service or category.
Note:
“Others” [i.e. Applicants not belonging to SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BCs and BCMs] who have put in 5 years and more of service in the State / Central Government are not eligible to apply even if they are within the age limit.

Educational Qualifications

(ii) Must have passed the Government Technical Examination in Shorthand:- both by Higher Grade in Tamil and English Provided that if with thequalifications referred to in items (i) and (ii) above are not available,who have passed the following examinations in the order of preference indicated below will beconsidered for selection namely: -
(a) Government Technical Examination in Typewriting and Shorthand in Tamil both by the Higher Grade and Typewriting and Shorthand in English both by the Lower Grade.
(b) Government Technical Examination in Typewriting and Shorthand in English both by the Higher Grade and Typewriting and Shorthand inTamil both by the Lower Grade.
(iii) Certificate course in Computeron Office Automation conducted bythe Technical EducationDepartment.
Note:
Applicants who do not possess the qualification in “Computer on Office Automation” conducted bythe Technical Education Department may also apply. If selected they should acquire such qualification within the period of their probation.
2. Assistant in the following departmental units:-
Civil supplies and consumer protection, Industries and Commerce, Commissioner of Revenue Administration, Prison, Police, Registration, Backward Classes Welfare, Fisheries, Labour, Employment and Training, Highways, Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments, National Cadet Corps, Vigilance and Anti- Corruption, Forest, Survey and Land Records, Urban Land ceiling and Urban land Tax, Stationery and Printing, Divisions of Commercial Taxes, Assistant in Secretariat, (other than Law and Finance Department) Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission Tamil Nadu Text Book and Educational Services Corporation, Transport and School Education.
Any Bachelor’s Degree
3. Accountant in Treasuries and Accounts Department Any Bachelor’s Degree
Other things being equal, preference shall be given to
person who holds a degree in Commerce.
4. Assistant in (Law Department) Secretariat B.L. Degree awarded by any University recognised by the University Grants Commission
5. Assistant in (Finance Department) Secretariat Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Economics or Statistics
6. Assistant and Lower Division Clerk in Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Secretariat Any Bachelor’s Degree

Note:
(i) The qualification prescribed for these posts should have been obtained by passing the required qualification in the order of studies, viz SSLC, HSC or its equivalent and UG Degree.
(Section 25 of Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Conditions of Service) Act 2016)
The results of exam should have been declared on or before the date of notification.
(ii) Applicants claiming equivalence of qualification to the prescribed qualification should upload and submit evidence for equivalence of qualification in the form of G.O. issued prior to the date of this notification when called for, failing which their application will be summarily rejected. The G.O’s issued regarding equivalence of prescribed qualification after the date of this notification will not be accepted.

Note:
Applicants who have already registered in One Time Registration system paying Rs.50/- before 01.03.2017 and those who have registered for One - Time Registration on or after 01.03.2017 by paying Rs.150/- are exempted from paying the registration fee for this recruitment.

Ex - Servicemen Those who have not availed two free chances so far in any of the previous recruitments may avail exemption from payment of examination fee. Should not have availed two free chances in any of the previous recruitments.
Fee concession will not apply for those who have already been recruited to any class or service or category.

Note:
(i) The three / two free chance referred to above are not for EACH POST but for ANYTHREE / TWO APPLICATIONS ONLY. The claim for exemption from payment ofexamination fee made in any application which is rejected / admitted or withdrawn will becounted as a free chance availed.
(ii) Failure to pay the prescribed examination fee along with the application in - time will be liablefor rejection of application.
(iii) The number of free chances availed by the applicant means the total number of freechances hitherto availed by the applicant in his / her earlier application submitted to the Commission for any post / recruitment.
(iv) If the examination fee concession claimed in the applications is found to exceed the admissible limits as announced above, the application will be rejected at any stage ofselection. The number of free chances availed by the applicants will be counted from the previous applications submitted through One Time Registration and / or submitted directly without One - Time Registration i.e., before One Time Registration made as mandatory.
